The short version: Skylight does not collect, store, or share any personal information. No data ever reaches the developer's servers — because there are none.

INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy describes how Skylight, developed by Nicholas Lutz, handles information when you use the app. We have designed Skylight to collect as little data as possible — which in practice means none at all on our end.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Skylight does not collect personal information. Here is a complete description of every type of data involved:

• Precise GPS location (when-in-use only) — used to fetch local weather. Not stored, never sent to the developer. • Saved locations — stored on your device only, never sent to the developer. • Unit preferences — stored on your device only, never sent to the developer. • Notification preferences — stored on your device only, never sent to the developer. • Purchase receipt (Skylight Pro) — verified via Apple StoreKit, stored on device only, never sent to the developer.

Location access is "When In Use" only — the app cannot access your location in the background. You can revoke it anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Skylight.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

All processing happens on your device or in anonymous API calls:

• Weather & Air Quality: Your latitude/longitude is sent to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) to retrieve forecasts. No identifying information is included. • Precipitation Radar: Skylight fetches radar tiles from RainViewer using standard tile coordinates. No user data is sent. • Push Notifications: All notifications are scheduled locally on your device using iOS's built-in notification system. No external server is involved. • In-App Purchase (Skylight Pro, $2.99): Handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see or handle your payment information.

DATA SHARING

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party — because we do not possess any. Skylight contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no crash-reporting services, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

DATA RETENTION

Data stored on your device persists until you delete the app. We have no servers and hold no user data remotely. To delete all Skylight data, simply uninstall the app.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Skylight does not collect any personal information from any user, including children under 13. The app complies with COPPA by design.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Because Skylight does not collect or store personal data on external servers, there is nothing subject to data rights requests on our end. All data is on your device and under your direct control.

SECURITY

All network requests use HTTPS. Because we operate no servers and store no user data remotely, there is no central database that could be breached.
